While planning a family trip or a vacation, it is usually a problem to find tourist attractions where everyone, but most of all children, have fun. You no longer have to worry about such things in our region. We have gathered the best attractions in Little Rye Island where great fun, exciting adventures and sincere children's smiles are guaranteed. Do you need more?
Through the themes of the four classical elements (water, earth, fire and air), Hungary's largest scientific playhouse brings the natural sciences closer to everyone. Housed in a 300-year-old listed warehouse, the interactive experience centre guarantees an unforgettable experience for the whole family. Those who dreamed up the centre also thought of the very young children, as visitors can walk throughout the building pushing a pram. One of the big favourites of the kindergarten-aged kids is the indoor “Vole World” playground, and its theme is the mysterious and hidden world of the earth. It awaits the children with climbers, hiding places, a slide, a mole passage, an ant puppet rocking ball bath, anthill passages and a giant cobweb. The schoolchildren will be impressed not only by the interactive tools they can try, but also by the spectacular experimental presentations, the astronomical lectures and the Tesla demonstrations. In addition, the flora and fauna of the Little Rye Island also unfold before the family. 3 to 4 hours of useful and happy experience for the whole family!
The centre also has a snack bar and a gift shop.
Lipót Thermal and Adventure Spa, known as the pearl of the Little Rye Island, is one of the most modern spas of Hungary. The complex located in a calm and wonderful natural environment with 2 thermal pools, a swimming pool, children's paddling pools, a wild water stream channel, a Jacuzzi, an experience pool full of massage elements, a 1,200 m2-sized beach pool (connected to a wave pool, a water amusement park, giant slides), and a watermill located on a separate small island with a Finnish sauna, awaits the visitors.
In addition to swimming, the 10 hectares of beautiful live grass beach offers many opportunities for the whole family (beach volleyball and football field, ping-pong, badminton, pampering massages, playground, water park) and several restaurants are serving the guests.
The romantic river branches in the “Land of Thousand Islands,” the riverbanks lined with willow and poplar forests, lavish wildlife with grey herons, great white egrets, little egrets, beavers, coypu, kingfishers, and silence and tranquillity: it all means a canoe tour at the Little Rye Island. With experienced tour guides, the whole family can feel safe, and paddling on quiet waters can be an unforgettable experience for the children. You should not miss one of the most beautiful rowing tour spots in Hungary.

GreenEx base in Győr
One of the most popular tourist attractions of Győr is the deservedly famous János Xantus Zoo. The Zoo shows more than 500 animals of 100 species in large enclosures in conditions similar to their own original habitats. The visitors can see jaguars, giant anteaters, llamas, kangaroos, ring-tailed lemurs, rhinos, flamingos and green iguanas here. The Zoo shows, guinea pig trains, and feeding shows also entertain the whole family. In addition to the animal presentation, the garden is a venue for other cultural and sports events, so visit their website for other interesting programmes.
The tiny exhibition houses the treasures of the local boatmen’s dynasties and other memorabilia related to fishing. In addition to the boating equipment, awards, uniforms, and plastic models, there is also an interactive prow in the exhibition space where the bell can be sounded, and super selfies can be made. In addition to the boatmen, the exhibition also commemorates the fishermen of Gönyű. Barge, trammel net, fish-weir, lifting net, and shovels are also exhibited in the small room.
Not far from the exhibition room, a boat-shaped playground awaits the little ones. The Danube Panorama Educational Trail impresses the younger and older members of the family with a beautiful view and interactive games.

On the trail of the Romans - Ripa Pannonica
From Britain to Mesopotamia, the Roman Empire conquered the entirety of the Mediterranean coastal regions and at its peak, controlled a 6 000 000 km stretch of dry land. Defending such an expansive empire that was also very diverse geographically and culturally was only possible under very organized conditions. The several thousand kilometer long Limes (Latin: “path”) served this purpose, the borderline traversing thousands of kilometers across mountains and valleys, winding along the river lines was given the name “ripa.” The section of Roman limes along the Danube in Hungary bears the name Ripa Pannonica. Visit each of the municipalities where the remnants of the limes can be seen. And while you're on the tour, do not forget that you are at a potential World Heritage sight, as this section of the limes is among the Hungarian sights on the UNESCO world heritage tentative list.
